Dear friends!
The matter of peace which is widely discussed here is especially important for my native country - Russia, and for all Russian people whom I represent here.
We, who survived monstrous Second World War, who lost millions of people, who went through Afghanistan and Chechnya, who suffered from terrorists' attacks - we know the price of peace.
And you know, in Russian language there's one word - mir - that means both 'world' and 'peace'. They cannot be separated. That's why we were among those who strongly insisted on the peaceful way of solving of the Iraqi problem.
Old Soviet slogan 'Anything but war' is relevant again. And we call upon the world: Stop the war!
