Trips to New York City from Washington, DC

Here are some useful tips by Zeppelina (Anna from Russia):

Washington Deluxe is the bus company I would recommend you to take.

1.You should reserve a seat using this page:

http://www.washingtondeluxe.com/system/reserve.php

2. The schedule is used on this page:
These are the times on Sunday from DC to NYC:
8:30 am
10:30 am
12:00 pm
1:00 pm
3:30 pm
5:30 pm
7:30 pm

You can take another bus service if these times are not good. Here's another company: DC 2 NY (http://www.dc2ny.com ). See which company is better.

from DC to NYC
11:15 AM
1:45 PM
5:15 PM

There's also Chinatown bus but the one in NYC is complicated- its not easy to get to the subway station. They go almost every hour to DC- so on weekdays you can take it late a night if you need to.

If the times work out, I recommend using the first one (Washington Deluxe).

3. For Washington Deluxe the bus station is:
15th Street N.W. (Between K & L Streets)- make sure you aren't on vermont av which i did once.

4. To get there use Farragut West on the Blue or Orange line. You can look on the map to get a visual understanding:

5. Reserve ticket and pay on the bus - I would get there and back (its cheaper and if you don't use it now, you may use it in the future or someone else will).

6. You'll arrive here: 303 West 34th St. cor. 8th Ave, NY NY.
You find the subway station two blocks away - you can ask anyone for directions. You'll have to buy a ticket- its $2 a trip. I would get a $10 ticket since you'll be using it to get to different places.
